“Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and is not something you do in your spare time.”
-Marian Wright Edelman
From time to time I’m going to post quotes that stick with me. Something that I see or hear and then adopt into my life. These quotes that I will be posting mean a lot to me and I’d like to share them.
So this quote is by Lawyer, Activist, and Author Marian Wright Edelman. It may seem basic but it means much more that what it appears to be on the surface, to me. Why am I partial to this quote? Paying it forward. In some form or fashion we all provide a service to one another, whether it be as obvious as working customer service, or something like helping a stranger in need, or even putting a little more effort into a project that you know will help someone. I believe that service is a key amongst many others in how we are to continue going on; existing. This is something that we can’t forget. What is your service?
